Covid 19 Guidance – Campsite

Covid 19 Guidance – Campsite

  • We are restricting bookings so that the facilities are not in high demand, and so that there is more room to pitch safely on site.
  • Contactless Payments – We will ask for payment via bank transfer in advance, a week before you are due to arrive. By submitting payment, you are also acknowledging that you, and members of your party over 18, have read this guidance and agree to follow it. This forms our contract with you during your stay.
  • If you have Covid 19 symptoms, and need to cancel the holiday, we will refund you in full. If you have Covid 19 symptoms whilst staying here, we would expect that you would return home immediately to self isolate, as you cannot self isolate here. Any days missed in the holiday will be refunded.
  • On arrival, please stop in front of the house and use your car horn, or ring the house or Iain to inform us that you have arrived. Please don’t come to the door.
  • If you, or any member of your party, experience Covid 19 symptoms within 14 days of leaving the site, please contact us on staywithus@highfield-farm.com so that other guests at the time can be informed.
  • Please follow social distancing guidelines around site, keeping at least 2m away from anyone who is not in your household. Be particularly careful around the toilet block.
  • We recommend that you bring your own antibacterial spray, hand sanitiser and paper towels.
  • We would encourage you to use your own facilities wherever possible and to aim to be self contained. We understand this is not possible for everyone, so have opened the toilet and shower facilities.
  • Whilst you are here, we cannot allow any visitors onto site. If you want to meet up with family or friends, we’re afraid that this year, it will have to be away from the farm.
  • When using the water taps, please wipe down after use.  Avoid letting children fill water containers.
  • We would encourage you not to let children roam freely, where they could inadvertently break social distancing rules. If they are playing with other children, please seek permission from parents first. Please ensure play equipment, footballs etc. are not left lying around for other children to play with. Children should also be accompanied to the toilet and shower block.
  • We will deep clean the toilet and shower block regularly, and make regular checks throughout the day. We will display a notice so that you know when cleaning is taking place.
  • Washing up facilities are now provided outside of the shower block. Although this is a double sink, please only use one sink at a time in order to observe social distancing rules.
  • We ask that when you have used a facility – toilet, shower or washing up sink – you wipe down the surface before you leave.
  • We ask that you take particular care with disposal of rubbish. Please separate recycling from normal rubbish, because if you don’t, we then have to. (and we’d rather not!)
  • If you need to make contact with us, please ring the house on 01964622283 or Iain on 07808891988. Avoid coming to the house door.
  • Our normal rules of no noise after 10pm, no campfires and respect for other campers still apply! In these strange and weird times we want everyone to feel safe and to be able to relax. If you feel that the behaviour of other campers is putting you at risk, please get in touch.
